About Us

The Fleurieu Regional Waste Authority is a Local Government Regional subsidiary that has a vision of providing diverse and flexible resource management services that are affordable, improve environmental outcomes and promote a circular economy that our community are proud of. It provides waste management and collection services to the Councils on the Fleurieu Peninsula and Kangaroo Island and is seeking expressions of interest for an independent member to serve on its Board of Management.

We are seeking an independent member for a term of 3 years commencing in November 2024. The Board consists of four people from member Councils, an independent chairperson and two independent members. 

The Board of Management is responsible for managing the business and other affairs of the Authority and ensuring that the Authority acts in accordance with it’s Charter and any delegations made to it.

Independent members of the Committee will need to demonstrate recent and relevant skills and experience in disciplines such as, but not limited to, waste management, logistics, business, marketing. 

The Board of Management meets a minimum of six (6) times per year at the Goolwa office. A sitting fee will be paid to the successful appointees. Members will be required to comply with the relevant provisions of the Local Government Act 1999.
