Changes to 2025-26 distribution

In June 2025, we’re taking a big step forward by transitioning to a more environmentally friendly and user-focused way of sharing our bin collection calendars. Instead of automatically delivering printed calendars to every household, we’ll be focusing on digital distribution.

This change helps reduce waste from unused calendars and supports better recycling practices, especially since magnets attached to calendars can prevent proper recycling if not removed. The change also aligns with other SA Councils, many of which have not delivered printed calendars for over 5 years.

We suggest saving the PDF files or saving screenshot images on your phone or computer. We also use an app that can send you individualised reminder notifications – perfect for those ‘Which bin is it tonight?’ moments.

We understand that some residents still prefer a printed version, so we’ve made sure those are still available – just bring your magnet to reuse it!

There are numerous ways to get your kerbside collections calendar:

1. Get bin reminder notifications by downloading the My Local Services App

The free My Local Services app (currently not provided by the City of Victor Harbor Council) has all the information you need about the services available in your council. You can also check your next bin collection day and type, and you can even have weekly bin collection reminders sent to your phone.

Downloading and installing the My Local Services app onto your smartphone is easy and free. It’s available in the Apple App Store and Google Play.

2. Download an address-specific calendar – simpler and clearer

Our new address-specific calendars are simpler and clearer, showing only the collection days that matter to you.

Type your street number, street name and street type in the search bar below to check when your next collection is and which bin to put out. Then download your personalised yearly collection calendar for your address.

Hints:

  • Type your street address slowly
  • Type the first 2 letters of your street type
  • Don’t hit ‘Enter’ at the end
  • If you are in a unit, use your main street number (without unit, 1/ or U1), e.g. if you are Unit 3/27 South Road – type “27 South Road” and then choose your specific unit address from the drop-down options
  • If your newly built property does not appear in the search function below, please try a nearby address, or contact us on (08) 8555 2467 between 8.30 to 4.00 (Monday to Friday).

3. Council-wide collection calendar downloads

Click on your Council below to access the full calendar for your area. Use the map on the back to determine which day is your collection day and then write this day on the front of the calendar.
