Commercial Food Waste Collection

In line with FRWA’s commitment to diverting organic and compostable waste from landfill, FRWA has introduced a weekly food waste recycling program for food service establishments across its mainland councils: Alexandrina Council, The City of Victor Harbor and the District Council of Yankalilla, as well as Kingscote on Kangaroo Island.

  • Weekly food waste collection is provided in the following areas: Goolwa, Goolwa Beach, Middleton, Port Elliot, Hayborough, Victor Harbor, Encounter Bay, Yankalilla, Normanville, Myponga, Mount Compass & Strathalbyn
  • Collection of weekly food waste bins from businesses will be at the discretion of FRWA and will be assessed based on business type, compostable materials produced, program participation, estimated FOGO diversion rate and access to current kerbside FOGO collection route
