Not for Profit Exemption

FRWA aims to support responsible waste management by charities, service clubs, community groups and not-for-profit organisations. FRWA supports the valuable work of these groups and organisations by offering a not-for-profit waste management allowance to be used towards FRWA Waste and Recycling Depot (WRDs) products/services and additional collection services.

What is an eligible organisation/activity:

  • A not-for-profit (NFP) organisation (charity group, service club, community organisation)
  • Fund-raising activity conducted by local service clubs, schools (schools can only apply if it is for a fundraising event), community groups or similar organisations.

Approved time frame

The allowance can be used between 1 July to 30 June. Any unspent allowance is forfeited (no rollover or payout). Once the $275 annual limit has been reached, the organisation will be charged in accordance with the regular gate and service fees.

Value and usage of credit allowance

Upon approval, the applicant organisation will be awarded $275 to be used towards:

  • Waste disposal at any of the FRWA Waste and Recycling Depots
  • Purchase of landscaping products at any of the FRWA Waste and Recycling Depots
  • Purchase bins or bin parts from FRWA outlets
  • Purchase annual additional collection services. To organise/renew annual additional collection, please wait till you receive your letter of approval, then call FRWA on 8555 7405 (Mon-Fri 8.00 – 4.00)
  • Event bin hire – after approval, bookings can be made via:

Renewal

Current NFP allowance holders will be emailed a renewal link in May each year. Any change to the status of the organisation as a not-for-profit entity, or discontinuing of a fundraising activity, may result in the allowance being withdrawn by FRWA.
