Waste & Recycling

Other Recycling Services

Other recycling and salvage services are operated by charities and private businesses on the Fleurieu and

Kangaroo Island. Wherever possible FRWA encourages the REUSE, REPAIR AND RECYCLING of useful

household items and RECYCLING of recyclable materials.

Salvage and Save

Salvage & Save is a business initiative of Mobo Group, who together exist to reduce landfill by accepting donated or salvaged goods and recycle them back into the community through our recycled goods shops. By donating goods you can save on dumping fees, help save the environment and help Mobo Group to provide local jobs for people with a disability.

ChemClear

Got unwanted chemicals on your property? Register for ChemClear’s upcoming SA collection

ChemClear

Farm safety starts with responsible chemical management. ChemClear’s upcoming SA collection event is proposed for early 2026. It‘s your chance to safely dispose of unwanted or expired agricultural chemicals. If enough local registrations are received, FRWA and Council hope to secure a Fleurieu Peninsula collection point.

Whether you have Group 1 or Group 2 chemicals, ChemClear ensures they are disposed of safely, preventing potential hazards on your farm.

Group 1 chemicals, supported by drumMUSTER (drums containing the eligible drumMUSTER logo printed or stamped on them), can be disposed of for free, while Group 2 chemicals, chemicals that are unlabelled, out-of-date, or no longer supported, require a fee.

Registration is simple—just visit the ChemClear website (chemclear.org.au) or call their hotline (1800 008 182). By registering early, you contribute to a safer environment and reduce the amount of hazardous materials stored on your farm, creating a safer workplace for you and your employees.

Don’t delay—register your chemicals today to help secure a local collection day while taking an active role in maintaining a safe and sustainable farming operation.
