The Goolwa Waste and Recycling Depot shed rebuild has started.
Fleurieu Regional Waste Authority is excited to share that preliminary work on the rebuild of the main Goolwa shed that was extensively damaged by a battery fire in October last year has commenced.
Short delays and traffic restrictions may occur on site Please follow the instructions from our gatehouse and operations staff during the construction work We thank customers and visitors for their patience during the construction stages.
The rebuild project is scheduled to be completed by the end of this year.It’s a timely reminder for all to dispose of batteries safely:
No batteries in any bin (not in the recycling or general waste bin) Don’t place batteries in depot waste Separate batteries and bring them to the depots for free disposal, or Google ‘bcycle’ for other free disposal points Watch out for embedded batteries like vapes, rechargeable tools and toys, stick vacuums, electric toothbrushes and rechargeable wearables like watches and ear buds/phones.Thank you for your patience.
